Hello, I'm Teacher Carsis. I completed my Bachelor of Secondary Education majoring in English at Saint Michael College of Hindang, Leyte Incorporated. I have been teaching English for a year and find great joy in it. Throughout my professional career, I taught English in junior high school and was honored as Best Teacher Intern during that time. English has been my favorite subject since childhood, as it enables me to interact and socialize with the outside world.
In my free time, I enjoy watching English films and anime, as well as reading literature. I am a passionate and dedicated teacher with a compassionate heart. If you're seeking an engaging lesson with a skilled teacher who will help you achieve your best potential, join me as my student, and let's embark on our English learning journey together. Dear Carsis-sensei,
2026-02-03editSawaThank you very much for today's lesson. I wanted to take a moment to reflect on your feedback about "thinking in English" from a slightly more advanced perspective, as I already hold the Eiken Pre-1 certificate. While the Pre-1 level tested my ability to handle diverse social topics, your recent advice made me realize that to truly bridge the gap toward the Eiken Grade 1 level and beyond, my mental processing needs a major overhaul.
At my current stage, I can handle daily conversations and standard argumentative structures quite naturally. However, when we encounter more abstract or intellectually demanding topics, I notice a subtle "cognitive lag." It is not that I don't know the words; rather, my brain is occasionally attempting to validate the complexity of the logic in Japanese before I articulate it in English. This dual-processing is a barrier to true native-like fluency. To "think in English" at a Grade 1 level means I must develop the ability to conceptualize, hypothesize, and debate intricate theories directly within the English language framework.
From now on, I am going to challenge myself to eliminate the "Japanese safety net" entirely during our sessions. Even when the subject matter becomes highly academic or technical, I will strive to maintain a continuous flow of thought in English. I want to shift my focus from "accurate translation" to "instinctive reaction." This requires me to expand my active vocabulary and master the nuances of formal English so that I can express sophisticated ideas without reverting to simpler structures just to save time.
Specifically, I would appreciate it if you could push me harder during our Q&A and debate sessions. Please do not hesitate to point out any moments where you feel my response is delayed due to internal translation. I am eager to practice responding to unpredictable follow-up questions where I have to construct a logical argument on the fly.
